We have 5:25pm reservations at California Grill. Can we stay to watch the fireworks on the rooftop?

    Hello Rita,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Believe it or not, the next month and a half is going to fly by, and you'll be joining in The World's Most Magical Celebration!

Whether it's a part of a Walt Disney World vacation, or just a special dinner, an evening at California Grill is such a treat. It can also be a challenging restaurant to get a reservation for, so congratulations on that! Besides the delicious food, the view from the 15th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort is incredible. I love the Braised Beef Short Rib Wontons. If you eat meat, that's a solid first course.

With dinner at 5:25 PM, I'm not sure if you can actually stretch your meal until Disney Enchantment, even if it's scheduled for 8:00 PM. Don't worry, you won't have to miss the show either. After your meal, depending on the timing, you may want to head back down to the resort lobby. Do some shopping, or just admire the artwork of Mary Blair, especially her mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse (try to spot the 5-legged goat).

About 30 minutes before the show head back to the check-in podium with your dining receipt and let the Cast Member know you would like to view the fireworks. You'll get to ride that exclusive elevator one more time to the observation deck where you can catch Disney Enchantment over Cinderella Castle, the Electrical Water Pageant as it floats by, and possibly even see some of the fireworks from Harmonious in EPCOT (although without the piped-in soundtrack, of course).

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
    Diane

I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
