Hi Sadie,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question! I was a Disney Bride (and honeymooner) too and I’m truly so excited for you and your fiancé!!
It’s no secret that I love food and
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is probably one of my favourite places to eat on the planet. From the delicious food to the amazing view, it truly is a special and unique Disney dining experience.
I’m happy to say that, even though your 9:20 pm dining reservation is likely after
Magic Kingdom Park’s nightly fireworks spectacular, you should still be able to see the show from the California Grill’s observation deck that night. Simply check in on the second floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort (right beside the escalators) about 45 minutes before the show and you’ll be told whether there will be space to accommodate you and your party. Once the show is over, you’ll likely be invited to take a seat in the lounge to wait for your table to be ready.
Little tip: Once you get up to the restaurant, go over to the bar and grab two glasses of bubbly for you and your sweetie. I can’t think of a better way to toast the start of your Happily Ever After with fireworks and two glasses of champagne!
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. I love helping plan the perfect
Disney honeymoon!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
