If I have 7pm dinner reservations at Sci Fi will that leave enough time to get in line for Fantasmic 9:30 show on Wed Feb 4?

Take me to your leader, Susan. Welcome to planDisney, where we’re all about pulling into a drive-in for some burgers and aliens.

I have many fond memories of eating at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, from the first time I went with my friend Kim, to the time I ate there with my extended family, to last summer when my niece chose it specifically out of all the restaurants in the entirety of the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s nostalgic, so well-themed, and the food is both filling and comforting. It’s good to be in your drive-in era.

In my experience, if you tell your server your schedule, they will do their best to accommodate you and get you in and out on your timetable. Let them know that you’d like to line up for Fantasmic! at a certain time, and I’m sure they’ll be able to work with you. Of course, if you’re really worried, you can see if any times open up as your trip gets closer, so you don’t have to rush dinner and can spend more time enjoying your delicious comfort food and your over-the-top sci-fi footage.

I actually hadn’t seen Fantasmic! until a few years ago, and now I’m hooked. Although my favorite parts are from Frozen 2 and Moana, the entire show is so well done. And if you find yourself really enjoying it when Maleficent turns into a 40-foot-tall dragon, be sure to make time for the Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show. While there won’t be dragons, the show is fun, the songs are catchy, and it gives some of the best Disney villains their due. Not to mention, the special effects are top-notch, and the performances are Broadway-level.

Susan, enjoy your visit to the resort, your otherworldly dinner, and your journey through Mickey’s fantastical dreams. If you have any other questions, I’d be happy to answer them!

    Safe travels, earthling,
    Matt
