Hi! We have 9:20 pm dinner reservations on April 6th for our family at California Grill in the Contemporary Resort. Will we be able to view the MK Wishes fireworks at that time easily from the restaurant? Does it get crowded. Have two boys ages 6 and 9.

    Hi Jennifer,

Your reservation should be perfect timing to see the 10 p.m. Wishes fireworks over Magic Kingdom from atop the Contemporary resort. Most of the tables at the California Grill offer views of the fireworks, and the restaurant dims the lights and pipes in the music during the 12-minute show.

If you really want a table near a window, I suggest your arrive a little early for your reservation and make that request. There are no guarantees because those are prime spots and diners who got window seats earlier in the evening often linger until the fireworks.

You also can leave your table and watch from one of the two outdoor observation decks for an even closer view. That's my preference. Your seating time should allow you to enjoy a drink or appetizer before Wishes, then your entree afterwards.  (The servers are great about timing the delivery of the food so that it won't get cold while you are outside.)

The decks can get a little crowded, but the addition of the second observation area during the recent renovations has helped. And I find people are normally good about letting little ones near the rail so that they can see better.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Wishing you a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World resort with your family.
