Sandra:
Generally, I tell folks that are dining at Disney to give themselves a good 1 1/2 hours to dine. For some reason, it just takes that much time. I don't know if that's how Disney plans it for non-buffet dining to help with park crowd control or if it simply takes that much time...but that's been my family's experience, time after time. (But don't see this as a complaint. Our family goes to Disney FOR the dining...and enjoys a relaxing, memorable meal.)
With your reservation, and my history of 1 1/2-hour meal service, you're going to be cutting it close for the fireworks. My suggestion is arrive earlier than the 15 minutes that Disney recommends so that you might be able give yourself a bit more wiggle time.
As for
the dinner menu at Akershus, some think it's more adventuresome than other meals at Disney. While it is more authentic to its Norweigian roots than other restaurants, in my opinion, the new menu this year has lots to savor--even for a finicky palatte.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation and memorable dinner!
