If I am a plus sized guest, am I still able to ride the waterslides at Typhoon Lagoon without issue? I guess my main issue is that I am afraid I will get stuck on one of the slides. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi there, Eric! Welcome to planDisney

I'm so glad you've reached out, Eric. One thing that I love about a Walt Disney World vacation is I truly believe they try to be as inclusive as possible to all Guests. I'm happy to report that I think you'll have a fabulous time while splish-splashing around Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

Out of both of the water parks at Walt Disney World, Eric, there is only one attraction that has a weight limit and it's located at Disney's Blizzard Beach so you won't even have to worry about it. The chairlift that takes you up to a few attractions has a weight limit of 375 pounds, however, there are also stairs to get you up to those slides as well. Other than that, there really isn't anything to be concerned with. I've seen people of all body shapes and sizes enjoy all of the water attractions at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. If there is something that you are unsure of while you are there, you can always stop and ask a Cast Member. There is always one posted up near each entrance so you shouldn't have a hard time flagging one down.  I know asking can be hard sometimes so if you want to stick to water attractions that are a surefire thing, things like the family raft ride that can accommodate several guests at a time are going to be a great starting point.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is by far my absolute favorite. I can spend hours getting thrashed around by life-sized waves in the surf pool. It's so much fun. Did you know that they actually used to give surfing lessons in the pool in the mornings before the park opened up? That's how perfect each wave is.

I hope this helps ease your mind a little bit, Eric. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
