Hey there, hi there, John! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by with such a great planning question.
In just days, you'll be arriving at
The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, ready to begin your magical adventure. How exciting! This Resort is absolutely stunning, and with the newly enhanced rooms, fabulous
recreation offerings, fantastic
dining and shopping options, and location within walking or scooting distance to Magic Kingdom Park, it really is the perfect home away from home
right in the middle of the magic.
As a Physical Therapist, I am more than happy to help anyone maximize their mobility, especially on a Disney vacation! I think you will be happy to hear that you can absolutely bring your electric mobility scooter into your Resort room for overnight charging. In fact, since you cannot leave your scooter in the Resort's hallway due to fire safety reasons, your room will be the practically perfect spot to charge it! Most electric scooters have a standard charging unit and plug-in, so you should be able to plug into any of the outlets in the room. Now, you can be charged and ready to have the best Disney day!
You shouldn't have any issues fitting your mobility scooter in your room, but if you do, just stop by the front desk with your concerns. A Cast Member would be happy to help you troubleshoot any issues you may have. I also suggest that you check out the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page on the Walt Disney World website. It has some really helpful information about using your scooter (ECV) throughout the theme parks and on transportation.
I hope this helps, John, and I hope you have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious vacation! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning questions you may have along the way.
Everything is possible, even the impossible,
Mandy
