Plse help! We cant decide which date is better crowd wise for disney march 20-28 2010 (my son's 5th bday is the 24th) or should we wait to go April 23-May 2? My son will turn 5 in March and I would to celebrate in Disney. Are the crowds that much dif

    Hi Shannon,

The team that writes the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" also has a website:  www.touringplans.com.  As an engineer, I'm a big fan of their work because their recommendations are backed up by a lot of math and data collected over years.  On their website, you can see a calendar of predicted crowd levels.  They also have a key that explains what a particular crowd level prediction means in terms of estimated peak waits for the headliner attractions in the Magic Kingdom.  They charge a small fee, but it is worth every penny, especially when you consider what a Disney vacation costs in the first place.  They also have "touring plans" to help you maximize your time in the parks.  Check it out!

However, if you want my personal opinion which is not backed up by any data, then I recommend going in late April and early May.  I have been there in March, April, and May many times and May would be my favorite month.  Historically the crowds are much less and the weather is usually still nice.

    Have a magical vacation!
