Plnning first trip to DW! Plnning to go 8/18-8/24(week before school starts), crowds are supposed to be slower. Worried with it being hrricane season and it raining the whole time. I've never been to Orlando, can you tell me how weather/crowds r typically

    Hi Jessica!

You have picked a great time to go to Walt Disney World! I have vacationed in Walt Disney World during the last two weeks of August four times in the recent years. Typically, it is a slower time as far as crowds are concerned because schools and colleges are starting up in most States, so lines for rides tend to be shorter.  The weather usually is hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 80 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  You will need to have a strategy to stay out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day like dinning inside for lunch or picking inside rides or attractions that have air conditioning to experience during the middle of the day.  There usually is a short lasting afternoon thunderstorm everyday, so pack umbrellas or rain ponchos for your vacation.  Even though it is still hurricane season, it normally does not rain the whole day unless there is a hurricane that is over Florida. I have never experienced a hurricane in Walt Disney World in all of my trips there.

I hope that your first Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
