Hey Shauna! A very warm welcome to planDisney.
Thank you for sending us your awesome question about
traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth with an infant. From one baby-wearing Disney mom to another, I am thrilled to answer your question!
My children have been visiting the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks since they were infants. I am always surprised by the large amount of
“any height” attractions in Walt Disney World. Baby-wearing throughout the theme parks made traveling “the World” so much easier, Shauna! I think you will enjoy doing so.
Fortunately, I was able to keep my babies in their carriers on most Walt Disney World attractions. As a safety precaution, I was asked to flip my baby to be forward-facing on any attraction that had a lap bar or waist bar. However, I did not have to remove my carrier on any attraction. Isn't that magical, Shauna?
What I would do was sit in the vehicle, unlatch my carrier and forward-face my baby on my lap — all while still keeping my carrier’s waistband latched. This would allow me to quickly close my carrier's upper latch when the lap bar had lifted and while exiting the ride vehicle. Examples of attractions with lap bars are: Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Haunted Mansion. Your little Mouseketeer will have a blast!
I was never asked to remove her from her carrier or forward-face her on any rides that took place on a “boat” or that had bench-style seating. Examples of these types of attractions are: “it's a small world”, Frozen Ever After, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Because these attractions do not have lap bars, you will be able to ride “as is” with your baby facing inward or outward — it’s entirely up to you!
Shauna, I hope I have helped answer your question. Before you go, don’t forget to
learn more about the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort, especially the Disney Park Pass system.
