The 2026 Walt Disney World runDisney Marathon Weekend is in full swing as we speak, and a few of my friends are already in town, lacing up and preparing for the big event! I'll admit I've never been much of a runner myself, but lately I've been feeling very inspired by my friends' drive and dedication. I even went for a run this week, which is a pretty big deal in the world of a self-proclaimed non-runner! Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before I was envisioning myself running down Main Street U.S.A. with arms outstretched toward Mickey himself!
It sounds like you're feeling pretty inspired, too, Jackie, so I'm super excited to help answer your questions about
runDisney! First of all, I'm happy to share that the dates for the 2027 runDisney Marathon Weekend have been released. Go ahead and mark your calendar, because the event will kick off in Disney World on January 6th, 2027, and run through January 10th, 2027. There are also several other runDisney events planned for Spring 2027, like the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and the 2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend. Jackie, it's important to note that all runDisney participants are required to register in advance. These magical events are extremely popular, and registration tends to fill up very, VERY fast. With that in mind, my best tip is to be prepared to register
as soon as registration opens for you. For the 2027 runDisney Marathon Weekend, registration opens to the general public on March 17, 2026. However, Club runDisney members have the chance to register a little earlier, on March 10th, 2026.
Club runDisney offers three different membership levels, all with their own price points, perks, and advantages.
Now, there's one last thing I'd like to mention before I go. Did you know that you can participate in a runDisney race without setting foot on Disney property? Yup! With runDisney's virtual races, you can get a taste of that runDisney magic even before your visit in 2027. You'll even get a shiny themed medal to prove you went the distance!
