Could you please tell me how long the magic bands stay active?I have 4 from past trips(in the past 4 yrs) and the Disney Experience site says they are all still active.Going in Nov and wondering if I need to order new or could use an old one. Thank you

Hi, Sandra! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Great question! Officially, MagicBands should remain active for up to two years. I have some that are older and still work. I recently learned that MagicBands, even if their battery dies, will still work like the ticket cards you receive in lieu of a MagicBand. While all the features might not, you should still be able to use these older MagicBands to enter the parks and for your FastPass+, just as long as these are active in your My Disney Experience account and all your tickets and reservations are linked. I would still suggest having a backup, just in case. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, go ahead and select new ones. The new MagicBand2 just rolled out and it looks super fun! I hear it’s softer, more flexible, and more comfortable than previous versions. You can read more about it in this Disney Parks Blog Post.

As you dream up your upcoming trip to the place where magic is endless, be sure to lock in your favorite restaurant reservations early. You can book those Advanced Dining Reservations as early as 180 days in advance! For your FastPass+, if you’re staying on property, you can book those 60 days in advance; 30 days in advance for guests staying offsite.

I hope this helped answer your question! Please come back and see us again soon. Have a magical day!
