Family Time in the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab is a great way for parents and kids to play together. While parents may drop in any time to watch their children in the Club or Lab, Family Time allows parents a chance to play with their children, talk to the counselors and become familiar with these areas.
During Family Time, everyone can enjoy the space. For guests sailing with extended family, bring the grandparents too!
There will be no formal
activities going on during this time. It’s basically an Open House!
When we first sailed on the Disney Cruise Line, my son was in the Oceaneer Club. My husband and I would frequently stop by to look in on our son. Once, Captain Hook was entertaining the kids.
Now that our son is 9 and in the Oceaneer Lab, we feel just as welcome to stop in there as well. Although you’ll notice that parents do not hover quite as long.
On our most recent cruise, we would stop in to see how our son was doing but felt comfortable staying away for longer periods of time. Once, we stopped by Studio Sea to watch our son participate in a game show. He never even knew we were there. Another evening, we strolled by the Oceaneer Lab while the kids were in the middle of a Kim Possible adventure. Seeing that our son was having a magical time, we went to the Cove Café for coffee.
The Disney Cruise Line allows everyone in the family to experience the magic of Disney at sea.
