Can you please tell me if the guests at the campground will have their halloween decorations up still on 11/1 or when they might have their Christmas decorations up? We are bringing our granddaughters and would love for them to see it on a carriage ride.ty

    Howdy Lisa!

Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite places at Walt Disney World. It has such a laid-back, rustic vibe. Add in the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and the always fun Chip ‘n' Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, and you’ve got the recipe for a magical visit any time of year. You’re right, though, Halloween and Christmas are when the campground really shines thanks to the incredible guest decorations.

These traditions actually started way back in the early 1970s, when campers began bringing their own festive displays. Over the years, things have only grown more elaborate. Since the decorations are completely guest-driven, the timing for when they go up or come down is different every year and really depends on each family. That means right after November 1, you might see Halloween still lingering, Christmas popping up, or a mixture of both!

One thing to note is that because the decorations are so popular, Fort Wilderness often restricts access around Halloween night to registered guests or those with reservations for Hoop Dee Doo. To make sure your trip there is a rootin' tootin' good time no matter what, I’d recommend catching a showing of Hoop Dee Doo. It’s guaranteed fun, decorations or not.

    See ya real soon!
