Hi! Can you please tell me if it is customary to tip the drivers of the carriage rides and the sleigh rides. Thanks so much--you ladies and gentlemen are the greatest!!!!

    Hi Elizabeth:

While gratuity is not expected or required on the carriage rides, it's customary for good service.  I've heard that many carriage drivers may turn down the gratuity a number of times, usually three times, before they will accept it.  So if your driver did a great job and you want to give him or her a tip but the driver declines, I would ask three more times before giving up.  If you try four times and the driver still won't accept it, then a "thank you" will suffice.

    Enjoy your vacation.
