Please tell me the correct information about tip payment rules when spending time in Walt Disney World parks.Past, local guides have told me that tipping is not required inside the park. But, I also see information that some restaurants require tipping.

    Hello, Chihiro. Welcome to planDisney

I know you've got to be getting so excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I can't think of a better way to kick off a new year other than a trip to the most magical place on earth. That is going to be so much fun.

I know that tipping when visiting the United States of America can be such a confusing thing. Hopefully, I can provide some insight for you. At Walt Disney World places you would tip are going to be sit-down restaurants, bars and lounges. The normal tipping amount, right now, is around 18% - 20% for great service. To make things easier, the suggested tipping amount will almost always be listed toward the bottom of the bill. If you have a party of 6 people or more, tipping is usually already included in your bill and at select dining locations like Cinderella's Royal Table and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. If gratuity is included, it will be stated on your bill and there is no need to tip on top of that - unless you really want to. Another optional tipping spot would be if Bell Services helps you with your luggage to and from your room. This is a complimentary service to you, but it can be nice to hand the Bell Services Cast Member a few dollars for assisting you. I typically give around $1.00 per bag.

I hope this helps, Chihiro. If you have other questions about your upcoming trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
