Please tell me the advantages of each Disney Cruise dining option time: 6:00 pm vs 8:00 pm. Our current dining time is 8:00 pm but I am inquirying about possibly changing my dining time to 6:00 pm. because our 6 year old may not enjoy eating this late.

    Hi Jessica,

I'll be honest,  I always choose second seating for dining.   There is so much to do during the day (visiting ports, TRYING to get the kids out of the pools) that I really appreciate having the extra time to get ready for the evening.  I like seeing the first show, doing a little shopping afterwards and then going to dinner.  There have even been times that my family and I have been running late and we go straight to the show.  We still have enough time when it's over to go back to our room and dress for the evening..  I find it to be very convenient.  I don't like sitting in the theatre feeling uncomfortably full from dinner (which is always the case for me).  I also like a leisurely meal while I'm on vacation.  If I've already seen the show I don't have to hurry!

When my kids were little, I would give them a snack around 5pm (by the pool) to tide them over until dinner.  As long as they weren't hungry, they weren't cranky.  Remember, you can order Room Service at the end of the evening if anyone is hungry.

Let me know if you need anything else Jessica.  Have a wonderful time!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
