Hi, Laura!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this question! When I was pregnant with my daughter, I created my pregnancy and gender announcement photos at the Disneyland Resort too. It was a fun way to share the news with loved ones while incorporating the Happiest Place on Earth!
Planning a visit to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park for the perfect photo opportunity with your favorite character is a great idea. You could make a small sign or bring along a prop (like pink or blue baby booties) for your family or Mickey Mouse to hold. I’m sure a PhotoPass photographer would be glad to take a bit of extra time to help you get the shots you want. Keep in mind that you can locate specific Disney Characters in the parks by downloading the official
Disneyland Mobile App and checking the Characters tab!
To announce my second baby, I took a few different pictures in Disneyland Park to post on social media. I purchased a Mickey ear hat embroidered with “Baby #2” to use as a prop along with the wording “we’re expecting a new set of ears,” and it also made a special souvenir that’s now displayed in my daughter’s room. I have another fun photo of my son in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle wearing a custom t-shirt announcing he'd soon be a big brother. When I found out I was having a girl, I bought a pink Mickey ear hat to be embroidered. You could have one in the color of your choice embroidered with your little one’s name to use in photos, too!
I hope this gives you some ideas for your pixie-dusted gender reveal announcement, Laura, and that you have a healthy, happy pregnancy. Please send us any other questions you may have about exploring the theme parks while expecting!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
