Hola, Alexandre! I am so glad to meet you here at planDisney. I know how disheartening it can be to be at
Walt Disney World Resort during a
runDisney weekend and not be able to run.
Registration for
runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend opened on March 12 at 10 a.m. Eastern and was pretty much sold out by 11 a.m. You have to have faith, hope and Pixie Dust to get a bib for these events as they seem to go as quickly as Eliud Kipchoge breaking marathon records.
There are usually not a lot of bibs that become available after the initial registration, but there are a few things you can try. If you have access to an app called Telegram, you can sign up for "runDisney Alerts." They will send flash updates when spots open up in any of the runDisney events. These seem to go even faster, like the Olympians in the 100-meter races. But I have my notifications set to let me know when a runDisney event I want is suddenly open.
My tip: If you see a lot of alerts on Telegram, login to runDisney and keep the site open. It will put you a step ahead if there are any openings for the Wine & Dine Half.
If you miss the chance to race, you can still join in the fun! About two weeks before the event, you can check the website for the weekend's digital guide which includes information for spectators. Cheering for athletes is absolutely magical. The environment around a runDisney event is electric and amazing. Every mile is magic for runners and cheerleaders alike!
Wine & Dine is a very popular event because it's runDisney during the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival: two phenomenal events that go great together. Disney has been releasing information on the
menus that will delight us at the festival. Yum!
I know this is not the news you were hoping to hear, but I do sincerely wish upon a star spots open up, and you will lace up your sneakers for the Most Magical Place to Race.
Every Mile is Magic!
