Hi! Can you please look at my resort hop itinerary to see if it logistically works? Bus to MK, Monorail through resorts back to MK, Water Taxi to Fort Wilderness, (bus or taxi?) to Wilderness Lodge, (Fastest way back to Port Orleans Riverside?) Thank you!

Hiya, Valerie! Welcome back to planDisney!

I’m always happy to help with transportation and directions questions. Walt Disney World is so big (it’s bigger than some American cities, in fact) that even the most seasoned explorers need assistance from time to time. So let’s get you where you need to go!

Transportation schedules are subject to change and may be different by the time you visit this summer, but at the time I’m writing this, I think your resort-hopping itinerary works just fine. Your quickest way back to Port Orleans - Riverside from Wilderness Lodge would likely be to book a Minnie Van through the Lyft app, but if you want to continue using complimentary transportation, then you’ll want to head back to the Magic Kingdom via water taxi or bus. From there, you can take a bus back to your resort.

As I mentioned, transportation schedules can change, so be sure you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded to your mobile device and double-check your travel plans before you head out for the day. The app provides up-to-date directions to most locations around the resort, including estimated travel times and multiple route options if available. I use this feature almost every day of my Walt Disney World vacations.

You’ve picked an awesome time to visit the Vacation Kingdom of the World. There is so much going on with Cool Kids’ Summer, including new shows, updated attractions, and both Walt Disney World water parks being open. You won’t want to miss a minute of the fun!

Enjoy your journey around the Magic Kingdom resort area and the rest of Walt Disney World, Valerie. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have additional questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
