Hi there, Shelley, and welcome back to planDisney!
Single-rider lines can be a valuable time-saving strategy in
Walt Disney World. My husband avoids most thrill rides, so even when we're traveling together, I use them when riding solo. My family occasionally uses them if we're okay going separately to save time in line.
The following attractions consistently offer a single-rider line:
Always check with a Cast Member to confirm the single-rider option is available. Also, remember that you'll bypass the regular standby queue, which means you'll miss the artifacts and storytelling of Expedition Everest and most of the car design process at Test Track. At Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, nearly all single riders are assigned to be engineers in the cockpit. Finally, children must be at least 7 to use the single-rider line.
While other attractions don't officially offer a single-rider line, if you're traveling alone, listen to the Cast Members near the end of the queue for rides like
Space Mountain and
Avatar Flight of Passage, where I've heard them ask for specific party numbers and single-riders as they finalize boarding. My son loves Space Mountain, but I can usually only tolerate one trip into space per visit, so after our first ride, I grab a coffee from Joffrey's Revive and wait for his return to Earth. He reports shortening his wait time thanks to a Cast Member soliciting a party of one.
I hope this has been helpful, Shelley! Best wishes for a wonderful vacation, and if there's anything else we at
planDisney can do to make it even more magical, come see us again. We're all ears!
Betsy
