Hi. Please can you let me know how early before opening you need to arrive for both water parks please. And. Also if both have shady areas with beds and chairs. We want to be in at opening times. Thank you.

Hey there Sharon! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m happy to see you’re already planning ahead for a visit to Walt Disney World Resort next year. I always tell all my friends to make time for the Water Parks while on vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth. For us as a family, it is always one of the most memorable, laid back days of our trip, and one that we always look forward to.

To answer your question, one of the best things about a Water Park visit is that you really do not have to get there at any particular time to have an amazing day! Water Park Hours are often shorter than regular Theme Park hours, and during certain times of year, only one Water Park may be open at a time, so check the Hours Calendar as your trip draws nearer! I would recommend that you arrive at or slightly before Park opening, and stay as long as you like. This often allows for a later wake-up call in the AM (often a nice opportunity to recover from a late night the prior day!) and plenty of time to return to your Hotel for a quick shower and dinner. Simply lovely!

Certain areas are more popular as far as chairs and loungers, but in my experience we can always find a place to stash our towels and an open locker to secure valuables. During a visit to the Disney Water Parks, we spend very little time in the chairs and love to be out exploring as much as possible! But if some members of your travel party would love to lounge and relax, this is definitely possible as well, and a Cabana rental is an amazing way to do so! Both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach offer reserved seating options, and they are often fully stocked with drinks, towels and other amenities to make sure you have an incredible day!

At Disney’s Typhoon Lagon you can choose between the Beachcomber Shack for larger parties, and a Getaway Glen Umbrella reservation for a slightly smaller group! At Disney’s Blizzard Beach, you have the option of the Polar Patio or the Lodge Umbrella! As you can see, the opportunities for shade and solace are there for your enjoyment! Advance reservations are recommended, and can be arranged by calling  (407) WDW-PLAY or  0800 028 0778 (UK).  If available, same day availability can be arranged in person at Beach Haus at Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Singapore Sal’s at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

Sharon, I hope that you find this information helpful to you as you continue to plan your vacation! Please do not hesitate to come back to see us anytime we can be of help! I hope you are excited to build in a Water Park visit to your next Walt Disney World Vacation. I know you will not regret it!

    See ya real soon!
