Can I please know what the 2026 springtime marathon dates are? I know April but when will the marathon registration day be for the April 2026 race?

    Hey Becky,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m happy to help answer your question about one of my favorite activities, runDisney events! I’m so glad you reached out to start your runDisney planning early because race registrations often open several months before the events, so you have plenty of time to prepare!

The 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend takes place April 16th through 19th, 2026. This race weekend consists of a 5K, 10K, 10-miler, and challenge that includes all three events. Registration will open July 29, 2025. You can register on runDisney.com. Registration usually opens at 10:00 AM Eastern on the scheduled date, and races can sell out so I recommend signing up as soon as the site opens. You can prepare in advance by creating a runDisney account, and having general registration information available, including name, address, t-shirt size, and emergency contact information. If you visit the Springtime Surprise page right now, you’ll see information about the 2025 event that takes place in a few weeks. The page will update with 2026 information, including race themes, before the registration for the 2026 date opens. If you’re planning to run the 10-miler and submit a proof of time for corral placement, make sure you check the Proof of Time Guidelines in the 10-miler section, as there is a deadline for time submission.

If you’d like to run a full marathon, you’ll want to check out the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend which takes place in January. This weekend is the only race weekend that includes a full marathon. Registration for the 2026 Marathon Weekend has already opened, and at this time it looks like all events are sold out. You can continue to check the event page for openings, or you may want to consider registering with a charity. Charities may require a fundraising commitment, which you can inquire about when you contact the charity you’re interested in supporting.

If you're interested in running a half marathon, Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in the fall, Marathon Weekend in January, and Princess Half Marathon Weekend in February, include half marathon events. Registration for 2026 Princess Weekend opens June 24, 2025, and 2026 Wine & Dine Weekend dates have not been announced yet. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and runDisney website for future updates!

I hope this helps, Becky! I love participating in runDisney events. I am running during the 2025 Springtime Surprise Weekend and look forward to registering for a few events in 2026. Running at home is fun, but nothing beats running through Walt Disney World before the theme parks open for the day. If you have any more questions about runDisney, or planning your Walt Disney World visit, I’d love to help you here at planDisney
