Jambo, Hailey! Welcome to planDisney, where we happily answer any Disney vacation questions that are on your mind!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is probably one of my favorite
Disney Resort Collection Hotels. I mean, where else besides Africa can you see authentic African art throughout a resort and get views of an actual savanna? And not only that, it has probably the best dining options of any other hotel at the
Walt Disney World Resort with
Sanaa,
Boma - Flavors of Africa, and
Jiko - The Cooking Place. Even
The Mara, the quick-service option, has some amazing choices. Zebra Domes all day, every day? Yes, please!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has two main buildings:
Jambo House and
Kidani Village. Jambo House is the main, original building that has both standard Guest rooms and Disney Vacation Club Villas. Kidani Village is comprised of all Disney Vacation Club Villas. But please keep in mind that you do not have to be a
Disney Vacation Club member to book these options. As long as there's availability, these rooms can be booked by anyone.
If you are torn between which option to choose, I suggest looking at the pictures of rooms in each section on the Walt Disney World website. Both are wonderful options, but different people have different preferences. For example, some people prefer to be in the main building, Jambo House, because it has more restaurant options and they love that grand lobby (especially during the holidays). Others enjoy Kidani Village as it has more Disney Vacation Club availability and is a bit more away from the hustle and bustle of the main building. There are also some differences in the layout of the rooms as well so I would again suggest looking at the listings on the website to determine which is more preferable to you.
Hailey, no matter which section you choose, I really don't think you can go wrong at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is such a unique resort with wonderful options. There's even the
Starlight Safari that will give you nighttime views of the savanna!
