Please HELP me, nothing planned on this vacation! I am going with my husband and very moody 13 year old daughter. We are going August 21 to the 26th. I am so unprepared. Ideas/tips? What can I expect weather? lines? HELP!

    Hello Nancy!
Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation can seem overwhelming when you have a short amount of time to prepare. But never fear! You are going at a time of the year where the crowds are a bit more manageable as many schools are back in session. It will still be quite warm, so I recommend preparing a daily itinerary that includes some downtime at your resort to relax and cool off. Since you are coming up on your trip quickly, I strongly suggest you invest in a subscription to touringplans.com. The Touring Plans web service can help you set up a daily plan to reduce your wait in line and also narrow down your choices for attractions.

As for your "moody 13-year-old"... I myself survived THREE 13 year old girls over the course of the past few years so I do have some advice for you. First, make sure you include her in the planning to make sure you schedule some of her "must do" attractions. Second, plan to meet her favorite character- nothing brings out the kids in a teenager like hugging Tigger or Mickey or Cinderella (or all three)! Third, give her a gift card so that she can choose her own souvenirs and have control over her spending. In my experience, this goes a long way in avoiding conflicts and bringing on the good nood.

As long as you focus on your high priority attractions and look for things that will bring a smile to your teenager, you will have a magical time!

    See ya real soon,
