Please help we want to take our family to Disney world we have a 18, 16 and 8 year old. We can only go on school breaks and we want to stay in Disney. What would you say is the best time for us to go? We want to make this a very special time. Can you help?

    Hi Deborah!

I understand completely. My wife and I don't like to pull our children from school for more than a day or two (at most) putting us in the same boat. Unfortunately, Walt Disney World is crowded when older children are typically out of school. Christmas Week, Thanksgiving Week, and Easter Week are very crowded, followed closely by the summer months. In fact, July in my opinion is the single most crowded month in Walt Disney World.

My family and I usually do a short vacation in January or February around the holidays each year. Sometimes we will come down in October if the school schedule lines up just right. Of the big three holiday weeks, I would personally pick Thanksgiving over Christmas or Easter. July 4th is another popular weekend, but not as crowded as the big three holiday weeks.

I suggest visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com. That is the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar throughout the year. Their predictions are based on a lot of math ad years of data collection. As an engineer, I am a huge fan of their work.

I hope this helps. Please write back with more questions!
