Can you please help me how to book the new genie plus when I am outside the US? I arrive one day before we enter the parc, we stay at a Disney hotel, but I've read that it is only possible to book one week upfront when you are in the US. Please help.

Hello there Jennifer, and thank you for coming to us here at planDisney from the Netherlands!

This year, we bid farewell to what was formerly called Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane, in order to welcome Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass instead! Ever since the newly updated Lightning Lane passes launched at Walt Disney World Resort this summer,  many fellow international guests have eagerly awaited any news or updates as to whether they would be able to purchase these and plan ahead from home. At the current time however, guests outside of the US and Canada are encouraged to make sure they have the My Disney Experience app downloaded as they arrive in the United States - so unfortunately you will only be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes and make bookings for the attractions using the app once you arrive here.

While Disney Resort Hotel guests have the benefit of being able to purchase their Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days ahead of the first night of their stay, this still also only applies to those who are already in the United States or Canada ahead of their visit. (This is also the case for international guests staying at other accommodations further from Walt Disney World Resort property, who would have had the opportunity to make these purchases up to 3 days in advance.) That said, I have friends coming to visit from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands soon and since we're linked through our Family & Friends lists I'm hoping that I can book Lightning Lane passes for all of us from here in Florida!

It's important to note that this is the policy at the present time, and this is currently subject to change without prior notice; in fact even leading up to the launch date Cast Members were providing information that Canadians wouldn't be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes from outside the United States which has since been disproven. I recommend doing your best to see what kind of attraction return time availability may be remaining even on that one day you have in advance, and in the meantime, it's always best to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and come back to us if there are any further updates to Lightning Lane passes for our international Disney fans and friends from afar!

Wishing you all the best on your quest to conquer those Lightning Lanes during your upcoming stay!
