Please explain the Epcot F&W Festival to a 1st timer. What are the hi-lites? Anything geared towards a 3.5 yr old? Does it run all day or just certain hours of the day? Is extra cash on hand needed? Thanks!

    Hi Erica,

Epcot's Food and Wine Festival is fabulous.  Normally you walk through the World Showcase appreciating the diverse culture, food, and wine of the many countries represented.  During the food and wine festival the total number of countries represented increases to 25.  Also, instead of having to pick one restaurant for dinner, you can sample your way around the countries.  Most of the countries have carts with samples that range from $2-$4.  You can sample ethnic soups, appetizers, desserts, etc.  There are also beer and wine carts around where you can pay for samples or full glasses of beverages.  You can charge the cart items back to your resort room or pay by cash.  When I was there last year many of the carts allowed you to use dining plan snack credits towards the purchase of food samples.

The food and wine carts are out during the entire time that the World Showcase is open.  You will see program guides throughout the park giving times for special events like wine seminars.  Last year they also had a cookie workshop that run a few times a day.  I would think your little one would enjoy making some chocolate chip cookies.

I have been fortunate enough to be on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel since 2008.  As a Disney World enthusiast, I can’t imagine a greater opportunity.  My husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and I visit WDW a few times a year.
