Hi Moms! Will you please explain the difference between photo pass and memory maker? Do I HAVE to purchase the Memory Maker in order to get pictures taken by Disney photographers? Also, we are leaving in 4 days, is it too late to purchase memory maker?

Hi Karen! Simply put, the all-new Memory Maker is completely digital and does not include any prints or a CD like PhotoPass+.

Of course you don't have to purchase Memory Maker in order to get have a picture taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer, you can have the picture taken and then pay the a la carte price for the individual print. They'll even use your own camera to take your picture, but quality is going to look vastly different than their professional photos.

The big difference is, with Memory Maker you can have photos taken by Disney PhotoPass Photographers at literally hundreds of locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort and Downtown Disney including character meetings, iconic spots, select attractions like "Splash Mountain" and dining locations such as "Chef Mickey's." So, instead of paying for individual pictures, with Memory Maker you can download your photos as many times as you want with the freedom and flexibility to print your photos and burn your own CD with all the images.

Another advantage of Memory Maker is you'll be able to view and download photos from any family and friends connections in your My Disney Experience account. Everything is connected with the all-new MagicBands - simply tap your MagicBands after a Disney PhotoPass photographer takes your picture and it will be connected to your account. Your pictures will expire 45 days from the date the photo was taken so you have plenty of time to download them to your computer.

If you purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days before your first picture is taken then you'll save $50 off the regular price of $199 and be ready to capture special moments as soon as your vacation begins.  You can always just pay the full price and start taking photos.

I hope that helps answer your question. Wishing you a magical and memorable Disney vacation!
