Could you please explain the difference between a 1 bedroom villa at AKL - Jambo vs a 1 bedroom villa at AKL - Kidani? Would either of these villas offer more space for a family of 4 adults & 2 children (5 and 1) than a family suite at A of A?

    Hi Tamara,

These are great questions! Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has two sections, Jambo House and Kidani Village. Jambo House is the main lodge building, and Kidani Village is a village of lodging next to Jambo House. There are a couple of differences in a one-bedroom villa at Jambo House and a one-bedroom villa at Kidani Village. The one-bedroom villas at Kidani Village will sleep five people plus an infant. Your one-year-old counts as an infant, so your family would fit there. There are some one-bedroom villas at Jambo House that sleep four plus and infant, and some that sleep five plus an infant. So there are only certain one-bedroom villas at Jambo House that would work for your family. Additionally, the one-bedroom villas at Kidani Village are bigger - they are approximately 807 square feet, whereas the one-bedroom villas at Jambo House are approximately 710 square feet. All in all, sounds like your family would be more comfortable at Kidani Village.

The family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort all sleep six people. Both of the options at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will give you more square footage than at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, where the family suites are 565 square feet. Additionally, in a one-bedroom villa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will get a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a big jetted tub! The family suites at Disney's Art of Animation have a kitchenette and no washer and dryer in the unit. Both the one-bedroom villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort include two bathrooms and separate sleeping areas.

My recommendation for you is a one-bedroom villa at Kidani Village. Not only will it give you more space and amenities, but it is gorgeous. From many rooms you can go out onto your balcony and view the animals on the savanna! It's amazing!
