Hi, please can you clarify if we are able to add a preloaded travel money card(Mastercard) onto the my disney experience app.

Hi Maria and welcome back to planDisney.

As an avid planner myself, now is a practically perfect time for you to be preparing for your October visit to my favourite holiday destination - Walt Disney World

It can't be too much longer until you reach 60 days out and are able to make dining reservations as well as reservations for Enchanting Extras. I always think that this is a super exciting time. It makes it feel like the holiday is really happening, if you know what I mean?

Going back to your question, Maria, I haven't personally used a pre-loaded travel money card whilst visiting Walt Disney World for many years but, as luck would have it, I am actually staying at Pop Century Resort, right now, so, popped down to the Front Desk, to ask the question.

I was told by a lovely Cast Member that so long as your MasterCard pre-loaded travel money card acts in the same way as a Debit Card then there shouldn't be any issues in you using it as a Payment Method in your My Disney Experience profile.

Just bear in mind that all Disney Resort hotels keep a $100 hold, on top of the current balance on your Hotel Account, against the card used as your Payment Method. So, if you are using a pre-loaded travel money card, you will need to make sure that there is enough money available on the card to cover this.

Top Tip - You can view the current balance on your Hotel Account by clicking on "View Charges" in the "Hotel Reservations" section of the My Disney Experience App or, by stopping by the Front Desk of your hotel.

When my family visit, I usually stop by the Front Desk every 4-5 days to clear the balance on our Hotel Account. I find that this helps me to keep a track of what we are spending as it's easy to get carried away, tapping your MagicBand to pay for merchandise and meals etc.

I hope that this has answered your question, Maria. Please feel free to re-visit us, here at planDisney, if we can be of any other help with the planning of your trip.

Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
