It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Adele!
Rider Switch is going to be such a great tool for your family if you're
traveling with a little one who isn't quite tall enough to ride some of the more thrilling attractions. When you use Rider Switch, someone can always keep their eyes on your smallest Mouseketeer and your party won't have to wait in the standby line multiple times for your favorite attractions with height requirements! You'll be able to split into two groups, get a Rider Switch return time, and the second riding group will be able to use the
FastPass+ queue to enter the attraction.
If you want to use FastPass+ in conjunction with Rider Switch, meaning that the first riding group uses a FastPass+ to skip the standby line while the second riding group gets a Rider Switch return time and stays behind with the little one, everyone who intends to ride the attraction must have a valid FastPass+. To answer your question, the benefit of using Rider Switch and FastPass+ at the same time is so that the first group does not have to wait in the standby line and you're able to save a little bit more time. It's the same as everyone using their FastPass+ at the same time to ride the attraction together! If you'd rather save those FastPass+ selections for attractions that your whole family is able to ride, Rider Switch still works really well if the first group waits in the standby line. The second riding group is still able to bypass the wait using their Rider Switch entitlement and enter through the FastPass+ queue!
I hope this answers your question, Adele, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
