Hi Louise and welcome to planDisney! Like you, working out and staying fit is important to me even during a Disney vacation. You’ll often find me running along the many Resort hotel paths just before sunrise so I can still rope drop in the morning with the family. Now, let’s get you the info you need to get you pumped up for your next
Walt Disney World vacation!
Louise, you’re in luck!
Disney’s Riviera Resort just happens to be my favorite Resort hotel on property. I love the theming of the Resort, its location and proximity to the Skyliner, and all of the amenities it offers. I’ve also spent a lot of mornings during my Disney vacations at the
Athlétique Fitness Center and can give you some firsthand knowledge of the equipment and machines available. At Athlétique, you’ll find the following:
- Treadmills, elliptical bikes, stationary bikes, a rowing machine, and a functional trainer (cable machine)
- Set of dumbbell pairs ranging from 5 to 50 pounds and a set of kettlebells
- Adjustable benches, yoga mats, and stability balls
I will say that compared some of the other Deluxe Resorts and Villas, the fitness center at Riviera is on the smaller side and doesn’t have as many exercise machines. So if that’s important to you, you may want to consider Resorts such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (which has a newly built gym at
the new Island Tower),
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, or
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. These Resorts offer bigger fitness centers with more equipment and exercise machines.
Louise, I hope this information is making you feel as strong as Mirabel’s sister Luisa! If you have any other questions about Disney vacation planning, please feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
