Hi Nicola!
So happy you've sent us a message in a bottle from England! Right now, the song running through my head is, “I want to get away, I wanna fly away!” And the place I am dreaming of flying away to most is Walt Disney World. While I adore spending time with my kiddos on vacation, I sing that song in my head AGAIN because I sometimes need to get away...for grown-up time! I have zero guilt about this because I know that my kids have always had such a blast in the Walt Disney World Child Care Centers in the past. So much so that they have been disappointed when we returned because they were having so much fun!
Your best bet for an experience similar to the Child Care Centers of the past would be
Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at
Disney’s Beach Club Resort! As the name indicates, Captain Hook and his crew lead kids ages 4-12 on a swashbuckling adventure. From a scavenger hunt to a pirate feast, this is ARRRguably one of the best experiences for kids that combines Disney storytelling, beloved characters, and activities. Reservations are strongly recommended as availability is limited.
The only other alternative would be
in-room babysitting, available for children 6 months to 12 years old. I wish I had more pixie dust to spread at this time; Tinker Bell has been busy sheltering at home with Peter Pan and the Lost Boys in Neverland!
Nicola, I truly understand how you’d love to see something your kids enjoyed making a resurgence at Walt Disney World. As one of the resident Disney Cruise Line moms, the Child Care Centers remind me of the Youth Clubs onboard the Disney ships. I love that my kids can spend quality time and make friends in these clubs. Perhaps sailing with Captain Mickey might be something you could try in the future? Just a thought! A
land-sea vacation would truly be the best of both worlds. My tip: do Walt Disney World first, then kick back and relax as you set sail from Port Canaveral.
“You can fly” back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more great planning questions; we will "never grow up" from answering them!
See ya real soon!
