Hi, Please can you advise if I would be able to take some Hand Warmers on our Alaska cruise? We hope to spent a lot of time on deck and want to keep warm😀 I was thinking the disposable ones. Thank you

    Welcome aboard, Arlene!

Thanks for bringing your thoughtful question our way regarding your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation to Alaska on the gorgeous Disney Wonder. I just experienced this itinerary, and it was the vacation of a lifetime for my family – I'm so excited for you to embark on this fabulous adventure! Many of our local guides shared that each month, and even each week, can be different and have unpredictable weather so you’re smart to think ahead and “pack for all four seasons.”

A friendly Crew Member confirmed that yes, you may bring disposable hand warmer products onboard as they are not considered a prohibited item. However, as with all things onboard please be extra mindful of disposing them properly as we don't want those chemicals to fall into the ocean and impact wildlife or harm the beautiful natural environment as you explore it on your journey.

My family was well prepared for our varying weather throughout the week in Alaska. My son especially enjoyed his gloves, I was glad to have a few types of hats, and our base layers were really useful for adventurous days in port. You’ll find some fun, cozy items for sale onboard that are specially branded Disney Cruise Line’s Alaska season to add to your collection of items for staying warm and looking good in all those epic photographs.

I also wanted to spend endless hours on deck as you’re envisioning, Arlene. I couldn’t get enough of these breathtaking views and kept staring at the sea seeking the magical mist from a whale’s spout that meant we may soon get a glimpse of this special creature. On our glacier day especially, I was one of the last Guests to linger on deck before dinner and savored every moment! My favorite way to stay warm that day was the delicious hot cocoa (with or without liquor) and mulled wine that was served – find it at the bars or at a special station all the way forward (in front of the sports court) on the top deck throughout your glacier day. Deliciously cozy, it really hit the spot!

You’re going to have such an incredible time, and I hope this bucket list adventure exceeds your expectations as it did mine. My planDisney teammate, Tracie, also recently sailed to Alaska – please write us back if you have any additional questions as you prepare. We’d love to help you make the most of it by sharing our packing tips, best Port Adventure experiences, or the best food onboard!

    Wishing you a magical cruise,
    Amy
