Greetings, Noe, and welcome to planDisney! I like the way you're thinking. Spending the day with loved ones at Disneyland is always a great idea, and it's even better when it starts with Character Dining! Let's make sure you have the information you need to get planning.
Mother’s Day is May 10, 2026, and a few
Character Dining spots usually celebrate the occasion with a special menu. I've noticed reservations for seasonal and holiday experiences like this are sometimes released a little later than other reservations, which are usually available up to 60 days in advance. At the time of writing this, reservations haven’t been released yet, but I have a feeling it won’t be long!
Keep an eye on the
Plaza Inn webpage. Information may be added there before reservations are released. It's also a good idea to check the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Disneyland page on Instagram.
I hope you do have a chance to enjoy brunch at Plaza Inn on Mother's Day. In the past, not only was there great food, but also little keepsakes, a photo, and special Character appearances. I'm on the edge of my seat to see what this year's offerings will include!
If you aren't able to get a Plaza Inn reservation once they do become available, you should try for brunch or dinner at
Storytellers Cafe or
Goofy's Kitchen. I imagine each will offer a Mother's Day menu, as they have in previous years, and they would make great alternatives.
Here are some other ways you can make Mother's Day special:
- Head to the park early. In previous years, Cast Members handed out beautiful carnations. I'm anticipating they will do this again, but supplies are limited – the early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the flower!
- Treat yourself to the Lightning Lane Multi Pass to fit more magic into your day. Less time waiting in line leaves more room to explore. Plus, you'll have unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos on days you have the multi pass. Time to add some new memories to your photo gallery!
- You may be full after brunch, but leave room for sampling different snacks and drinks later in the day. Check out the foodie guide on the Disney Parks Blog for a preview of what you can expect. And if you have a Park Hopper ticket or Magic Key pass, you can head over to the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival!
- There are plenty of fun souvenirs to pick up around the park. Feeling royal? Design your own tiara at Cristal d'Orleans. Want to have some fun? Get a caricature drawing in New Orleans Square. Looking for something new to wear? You can get hats, sweaters, totes, and other items you purchase at the park embroidered!
Noe, I'm sprinkling a little pixie dust in hopes that you get the dining reservation you are dreaming of! Please reach out if you have any other questions as your trip approaches. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
