Hi, Heather, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us about those super yummy and so iconic cookie ice cream sandwiches from the
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Just thinking about this brings back so many memories of grabbing one of these and staking out our spot for the parade or fireworks. I've always been a purist and would choose chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. The combinations seemed endless, however.
Sadly, the cookie ice cream sandwiches aren't currently on
the menu. That being said, definitely check when you get there because things change, and although not guaranteed, they could be offered. If not, I do have a hack for you.
Main Street Bakery sells really delicious chocolate chip cookies. Get a couple of those, head to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, grab a scoop or three of your favorite ice cream flavor(s) and build your own. Another option is to head into
Main Street Confectionery for an even better selection of cookies. By DIYing it, you can make your very own custom creation.
I have a few additional ideas for you around the other Disney Theme Parks as well.
Gelateria Toscana in World Showcase at EPCOT has a cookie sandwich with vanilla gelato. Also in World Showcase, the
Mitsukoshi Department Store sometimes has pre-packaged wafer ice cream sandwiches in various flavors by the registers near the back of the store. These are popular and aren't always in stock, however. At
Terra Treats in Animal Kingdom, there's a cookie dough brownie ice cream sandwich, which is vanilla ice cream sandwiched between a brownie and edible cookie dough. I can hardly wait to try that one! Of course, there's always the classic pre-packaged Mickey shaped ice cream sandwich, which can be found at various carts all around the parks and resort hotels.
Heather, I hope these ideas help you stay cool while enjoying some tasty treats. If you have any other planning questions, please come visit us again here at planDisney.
Have a magical trip!
