Where is the Plaza Garden (the viewing spot for the Fireworks) located? Is it a good spot for viewing the parades?

Hey there, Brian! Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with more great questions!

It sounds like you plan on enjoying one of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties, and I couldn't be more excited for you. A Fireworks Dessert Party is a must-do on every one of my family's Walt Disney World vacations. Sweet treats, sparkling wine and the best fireworks viewing spot in all of Magic Kingdom? Yes, please!

The Plaza Garden, which is the fireworks viewing area for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Pre-Party and Post-Party, is located near the hub, in between The Plaza Restaurant and Cinderella Castle. If you look at a map of Magic Kingdom, it is the grassy area in front of The Plaza Restaurant and Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.

While the Plaza Garden is the perfect viewing area for the fireworks, it is not the best viewing spot for the parades. The parades pass down Main Street, U.S.A., as well as around the hub (in front of Cinderella Castle) and through Liberty Square and Frontierland. While I have watched the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade from under the shade of a tree in the Plaza Garden, the view was set back and obstructed. I recommend catching this daytime parade and the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, right along the parade route. While watching the parades from Main Street or in the hub is extra magical, I almost always catch the parades in Frontierland. I find that it is usually less crowded and easier to get a front-row spot there. The parades are not-to-be-missed, so I recommend grabbing a spot early!

As your magical adventure approaches, I recommend keeping an eye on the Entertainment Schedule for parade and fireworks times so that you can plan accordingly. Things can occasionally change, so I also suggest double-checking the times on the My Disney Experience app on the day you plan to catch the parades and fireworks. Enjoy!

I hope this helps, Brian, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable time! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way.

Make a wish and do as dreamers do,

    Mandy
