Are there any playgrounds at Disney World with swings? We have a special needs child that rides on swings for their sensory needs.

Hey there, Deborah! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with another great vacation planning question.

Eek! In just days, you and your family will be arriving at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, ready to begin your oh-so-magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! As a fellow mom and a Vestibular Physical Therapist, I'm so impressed to see you planning ahead for your kiddo, and I'm more than happy to help!

While most of the Disney Resorts Collection Hotels, including Coronado Springs, have playgrounds, the only one that I have seen that has a swing set is Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The easiest way to get to Fort Wilderness from your Resort using the complimentary Disney transportation is to hop a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then take the slow-moving, scenic boat ride to the playground at Fort Wilderness. Weeeeee!

I have also had the pleasure of swinging on many different lawn swings at the Disney Resorts, and this may be a great option for your child while you are enjoying your vacation. Just to name a few, you can find lawn swings on the beaches at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (a monorail or ferry boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park) and Disney's Beach Club Resort (within walking distance of EPCOT). Speaking of EPCOT, while there are no traditional swings at the oh-so-fun playground at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, there are ropes that can be climbed and rocked and play equipment that spins! Woohooooo!

Deborah, also, keep your eyes peeled for rocking chairs located throughout the parks and Resorts! My favorite places to rock and relax are in Liberty Square and on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom Park. Ahhhh.

I hope this was helpful, Deborah, and I hope you and your family have the most magical and memorable upcoming vacation! Feel free to stop any time by with any questions you may have leading up to your awesome adventure.

You've got a friend in planDisney,
