Hello there, Emmett!
I see we have something in common: a love for Disney Cruise Line and sharing the magic with our loved ones! I often travel with my in-laws, and while I'm a Platinum Castaway Club Member, they are Gold. I'm happy to share how we manage boarding and booking onboard activities with our different membership levels.
If you're all staying in one stateroom, you can arrange everything for your stateroom and take advantage of the early
Platinum booking window. However, if you have two different staterooms, you can only pre-book activities for guests in your stateroom. Since your daughter is a first-time cruiser, you’ll notice when you reserve an activity that her family will be grayed out until their booking window opens.
In my case, I book all the reservations we want for my family, and then when my in-law’s booking window opens, they sign in and reserve the same activities as me. If something is full, we keep checking back for openings. While I don’t have a crystal ball and can't guarantee you won't have any hiccups, we have never had a problem booking activities together.
The same applies to boarding. Since they complete their online check-in after us, they usually end up with a Port Arrival Time and boarding group number later than ours. We simply wait together in the terminal until their group is called, and then we all walk on the ship together. When I'm feeling antsy, I open the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, check out our dining rotation and table number, and start planning all the fun ahead.
Emmett, I know the joy of sailing with your family, especially experiencing the magic through the eyes of your grandchildren, will make every moment even more special. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out again.
SEAS the adventure!
