Hi Patrick!
So glad you boarded planDisney with your question! As a New York resident, I’m sure it would be so convenient for you to sail on the Disney Magic out of
New York City.
I get why you are very eager to find out all the itinerary details for this wonderful port city. Having experienced cruising past the Statue of Liberty, I must say it’s an awe-inspiring moment!
Given that Disney Cruise Line has announced that all sailings on the
Disney Magic have been
suspended through November 4, 2021, my guess is that will rule out any voyages from New York City this year. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I do know that the main goal is to have a successful relaunch back to sailing and ensure the safety of all Guests and crew.
As for the status of vaccinations being required, Captain Mickey has not made any official announcement on whether that will be a prerequisite for adults sailing. My opinion is that vaccinations will not be a requirement for children. But to be absolutely sure, we will likely hear more about this on the
Disney Cruise Line website and on the
Disney Parks Blog. The protocols currently being used in the United Kingdom for the Disney Magic at Sea voyages are really not instructive on what the procedures and rules will be when sailing from a US port. So we must be patient and wait and SEA what is decided.
In the meantime, feel free to follow along on the
Disney Magic at Sea Instagram as they document the return to sailing for Disney Cruise Line this week! We can live vicariously through those photos and videos for the time being. And you can always consider some of the other itineraries from Port Canaveral as they will likely be the first to resume cruising stateside. Sending you lots of pixie dust that voyages from the Big Apple will be back before we know it.
SEA ya real soon!
Sherry
