What are the plans for Mardi Gras in 2025 at Disneys French Quarters?

Hi, Nancy! Thanks for parading by planDisney with your question about celebrating Mardi Gras at the Walt Disney World Resort! As a New Orleans native, nothing brings me more joy than seeing the magic of Disney coexist with the culture and spirit of my hometown, and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is a testament to that! Let's talk about all the ways your Krewe can seek out some Mardi Gras fun this year!

Nancy, while no official announcements have been made yet about Mardi Gras events in 2025, traditionally Cast Members prepare a special golf cart parade between the two Port Orleans resorts; last year guests were welcome to visit with the Cast Members and check out the craftsmanship of their hand-decorated floats after the parade! In other years, pop-up character meet and greets have been known to happen at the resort; including visits from Jester Mickey and Princess Tiana. Previously guests were also treated to specially decorated river boats to journey down the Sassagoula River on Mardi Gras day. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as we count down the days to Mardi Gras for all the updates and details about special events and offerings! Be sure to also check the posted recreation offerings at the resort when you check in for your Mardi Gras visit; you might find some activities with a little Mardi Gras flair scheduled for the week of the holiday! And of course, keep an eye out for themed merchandise at your resort's gift shop; maybe a limited edition pin or shirt to commemorate your visit!

Nancy, Mardi Gras is a true celebration of family, community, and food, so be sure to snack on some Mickey-shaped beignets at Scat Cat's Club during your stay and make some new friends as you celebrate the spirit of the season! Like we say in New Orleans, there's no such thing as a stranger, only friends we haven't met yet!

And here's a little Louisiana lagniappe for you - traditionally Disney invites New Orleans-based school bands and marching groups to parade in Magic Kingdom Park during the week of Mardi Gras! As a teacher myself, I'm excited that my school's marching band will be parading on Mardi Gras day, and I'm even more excited to be there to see them make some magical, musical memories! Be sure to stop and cheer the bands on if you happen to catch them on Main Street, U.S.A. during your trip!

I hope this helps, Nancy! Pack your purple, green, and gold, but save room for the beads you'll bring home! If you have any other questions before you laissez les bon temps rouler, come on back to planDisney and let us know!
