    Hi there, I am planning to come to WDW this year (2013). I am coming from Australia and this will be my first time. When do you recommend would be the best time of year to go in regards to less crowds? Also what will the weather be like at this time?

    Hi Rebecca,

    I always like to travel to Walt Disney World mid-September or early October.  In the US school typically starts after the first weekend in September.  With that in mind, not many families plan vacation at the beginning of the school year.  The crowds are relatively light, and the weather is still summer-like.  If you go towards the end of September or beginning of October you'll even be able to get tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, a special ticketed event in Magic Kingdom with trick-or-treating, special parades, character greetings and more!  The only weekend you want to avoid is Columbus Day Weekend.  In 2013 it falls on October 14.  Many people will take advantage of the three day weekend and head to the parks.
