Hi Sara!
Welcome to planDisney! Splashing and playing the day away at a Disney water park is the perfect way to relax. . .no matter your age! While your little mouseketeer won't be able to tackle the biggest thrills at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, I think you'll find plenty to enjoy together!
Sara, when you're checking out the
attractions at Typhoon Lagoon, you'll be able to view both the height restrictions as well as additional notes about guest safety and accessibility. I recommend checking these out for each attraction before heading to the park so you can best plan your day. If you want to relax and float along
Castaway Creek, you'll be happy to know that baby float tubes are permitted as long as you stay in contact with the flotation device at all times. There is also a special section of the water park designed just for kids under 48 inches tall -
Ketchakiddee Creek. While your baby will be too little to explore on their own, you may enjoy sitting in the shallow water and letting them splash and play.
Packing for a day at the water park with a baby also has some special considerations. Typhoon Lagoon has complimentary life jackets available on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can also bring your own floatation device for your baby as long as it comes in complete contact with the body and you always stay with your child. It's also important to remember those swim diapers when you're packing for your visit to the water park as they are required for all children who aren't yet potty-trained. The water parks can get pretty hot when you're not in the water so I also recommend bringing a portable stroller fan and a sun hat for babies. You may also want to check out an
umbrella or
Beachcomber Shack rental to help with shade during the day - which may be especially beneficial during those nap times!
Sara, I hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort and Typhoon Lagoon! If you have any other vacation planning questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
See ya real soon!
