I am planning to come to Disneyland with a fussy 5 year old, I have had a look at a few menus from the restaurants in the park my question is apart from the little snack places to go do any of the sit in restaurants do simple chicken nugget, chips or pizza

    Hello, Leeann!

Welcome to planDisney! As a mom of two kids, I understand how important it is to have meal options that your children will actually eat! Hungry kids lead to "hangry" kids, and no one wants that!

There are a few table service restaurants that may make your entire family happy! One of my kids loves the Cheese Pizza at Wine Country Trattoria. Both Storyteller's Cafe and Goofy's Kitchen have character dining options that usually include all-you-care-to-enjoy pizza (among other food). Storyteller's Cafe is one of my family's favorite restaurants at Disneyland Resort! Carnation Cafe also has tasty Chicken-fried Chicken Tenders, which are basically chicken strips.

If your kiddo eats pasta, many restaurants will serve plain pasta with butter or cheese. Lamplight Lounge serves a Corkscrew Pasta with Creamy Cheese Sauce dish that is usually a hit with one my kids. Wine Country Trattoria also has Whole-Grain Pasta with Marinara and Meatballs, but you can request it without the marinara sauce.

With food allergies in our family, I also come prepared with plenty of snacks that I know my kids will eat. It makes me feel better knowing that we have a backup option in case a table service restaurant's menu doesn't work out for them.

Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance. I encourage you to make advanced dining reservations, as many popular restaurants fill up as soon as the reservations become available. However, some restaurants do have Walk-Up Lists if you are unable to get a desired reservation.

You will be arriving at Disneyland in the middle of multiple fun events taking place at the theme parks! The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival concludes on April 22, so you will have a couple of days to sample local cuisine at the Festival Marketplaces. Star Wars Season of the Force will be happening over at Disneyland Park, where Space Mountain is transformed into Hyperspace Mountain and new adventures will embark on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. It's a great time of year to visit Disneyland!

Leeann, thanks for visiting us at planDisney. If you have more questions about food or traveling with young kids, feel free to contact me directly! Have a wonderful vacation!
