I am planning to take my 9 years old daughter to Disneyland in March. This will be our 1st visit ever; what would be next step to plan our visit.

Hello Anna, and welcome to planDisney!  From one Illinois resident to another, I'm so excited that you're planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort here soon!

The first step Anna would be to book your theme park tickets and hotel reservations.  I would highly recommend exploring both the Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Packages as well as the Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Packages and see which one fits best for your family.  They both have great benefits, and you truly cannot go wrong!

After you purchase your theme park tickets through your vacation package, you'll want to make your theme park reservations as soon as you can, there definitely is still availability in late March as of today.  If you decide to upgrade to Park Hopper tickets, you'll select your starting park, and then you'll be able to hop over to the other park starting at 11:00 AM (subject to availability).  Both theme parks are located in very close proximity to each other, it's a very short walk in between the entrances to both parks.

You will also want to explore all of the dining options, and I do recommend utilizing both mobile order in the Disneyland app for quick service locations, as well as making dining reservations for your trip to sit down and enjoy a table service meal.  You can make reservations up to 60 days in advance, and we usually like to sit down for a nice dinner after a long day in the parks to rest our feet!

Finally, I'd try to prioritize a few of your daughter's favorite characters and movies.  If she's a Disney princess fan, you'll definitely want to stop by the Royal Hall to meet some Disney Princesses!  They truly take their time with each guest, and she will be able to pose for photos and get to spend some time with them.  If she loves The Little Mermaid like my daughter does, you'll definitely want to experience "The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure" attraction at Disney California Adventure Park.  If she's been captivated by Frozen for several years, make sure to stop by Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure Park for Anna & Elsa's Royal Welcome!

I hope this information is helpful for you as you plan your trip Anna!  Please do not hesitate to come back and ask me any other questions!

    Have a magical trip!
