I am planning my 7 year old son's first trip to disney. I am looking at the Deluxe properties and I need help deciding what hotel to stay at.

Hi Leslie! Tough question as I love all of the deluxe properties at Walt Disney World!  I think perhaps you can break it down as to what park do you want to be as close to as possible.  If you think you will be heading to the Magic Kingdom on many days I suggest the Polynesian resort.  It has excellent location being on the monorail making the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT just monorails stops away.  They have a lovely pool area and a beautiful beach for a seven year old to run around on and enjoy!

My other top choice is the Yacht or Beach Club resorts.  These resorts share the best swimming pool on property called Stormalong Bay. If you think you will be spending a lot of time at a pool then this is the place to be. They have sandy bottoms, lazy rivers, and a wonderful big ship slide.  Nightly movies on the beach plus the campfire sing-a-longs make it a fun place. These resorts are also just a five minute walk to the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT and a 15 minute boat ride to Hollywood Studios making the location to these parks excellent!
