Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. I'm so excited to hear you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! And with a
little one in tow! Your family is sure to make lots of magical memories together.
As a mom of three, one of the most important parenting lessons I've learned is that all kids are different. My sons just loved seeing Disney Characters at
Character Meet and Greets and
Character Dining Experiences, so I completely expected that my daughter would too. I was wrong! She was 11-months old when she experienced her first Disney vacation, and she screamed in absolute terror any time she saw a Disney Character. The precious Character interactions I anticipated for her on that trip did
not happen!
That all said, you're right - you won't know how your little guy will react to attractions ahead of time. To answer your question, yes, you may certainly wear him in a baby carrier on
family-friendly attractions. I recommend using the baby carrier as a backup and trying to ride a few attractions without it first. When my kids were that little, I'd hold them on my lap or I'd sit them next to me and put my arm around them. Hopefully, your son will be like my kids and he'll just love being immersed in the magic of Disney storytelling! You may even find that he enjoys the "dark" attractions like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. We found that our babies and toddlers had no frame of reference yet to be frightened on those types of attractions!
Did you know there's a conveniently located
Baby Care Center in each of the four theme parks? The Baby Care Center is the perfect place to take your little guy for a quiet feeding or diaper change!
I hope this was helpful, Jennifer. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
