Planning a year ahead for next May. Is it worth the money to stay at a Deluxe resort or is Moderate the same? My kids will be 4 and almost 6.

Whether or not the upgrade to deluxe from a moderate is "worth the money" is relative.  It really depends on what you're looking to get out of your vacation.  Here's my take: if you intend to spend most of your waking time at the parks, then the upgrade probably isn't worth it for your family.  If, on the other hand, you intend to take mid-day breaks, and spend leisurely afternoons by the pool, and plenty of time dining on site at your resort, then the upgrade seems like a much better value.  Another consideration would be which deluxe resort you're considering, and whether or not it offers any transportation advantage.  For instance, if you are looking to stay at the Polynesian, and you plan on spending a majority of your time at the Magic Kingdom, then that's another reason to consider the upgrade.  It all comes down to how you want to spend your time and what you're willing to sacrifice for the upgraded resort experience.  Good luck with your decision!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
