Hi Maria,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!
For me, the key thing to keep in mind during any visit to Walt Disney World Resort is to pace yourself, especially during the hot summer months. So my first recommendation would be to stay in a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel. This will allow you to do something that the entire family will enjoy: a mid-day nap or pool break! It may sound crazy, but the key to making your vacation fun is to ensure that everyone (kids and adults included) is well rested. Taking a break to either be in the pool or indoors to avoid the peak heat and humidity hours is my number one tip for Summer visits. Plus, if you’re staying “on property”, not only will your Resort have a really cool pool area, you’ll also be able to use Disney’s
Complimentary Resort Transportation to get to and from your Resort, which makes getting around a breeze.
My second recommendation would be to keep in mind that you won’t be able to see everything so pick and choose the highlights or “must do” attractions, entertainment options and restaurants for you and your family. That’s why I would recommend against adding the Park Hopper option to your
Theme Park Tickets, especially if this is your first visit. Focusing on one Theme Park per day, with a break in-between your morning fun and evening fun (and fireworks!) would be an ideal way to plan your days.
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you want more planning tips. That’s what we love to do!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
